In Search of Sunshine Day 15 - Universal

Was so nice to wake up in a really soft, comfy bed, fling open the curtains to a great view, make a decent coffee - and then have to persuade hubby that paying $10 for a day of wifi wasn't such a bad idea, since the alternative was to have three of us, used to sitting in bed in a morning using phones and pads to keep in touch with the rest of the world, whining about him being tight.

Royal Pacific Seaplane
Unfortunately that also stopped us getting up and ready to get to Harry Potter Land early. Oh well, nothing we haven't seen before. It also meant we could sit and watch Andy Murray win another gold for us. Eventually we did leave the room, and toddled off to Islands of Adventure for the last time this year. Spiderman is much better now the graphics have been updated, although it may also be down to the fact that I now have lenses and can actually see it properly. Oh and I had another Butterbeer - like Cream Soda but not so sweet.

Stormy Hogwarts
Hogsmead
For years now we have seen The Blue Man Group Advertised and never actually booked to see it. This year, hubby got some discounted deal (as he does) and we went to see it tonight. Expecting poor seats near the back, we were surprised to have seats two rows behind the 'Pocho Rows' ie the rows where you may get something on you. We were also right in the middle section. The show was fantastic. I had no idea what to expect and enjoyed every minute of it. Alexander got glow drumsticks, and hubby a bruised hand!

Poncho Row
I will explain. The reason there is a 'Poncho Row' is because at times there is a lot of 'stuff' being splashed around, and inevitably some/most of it ends up on the poncho clad front rows. (Dont want to spoil it for anyone who is about to see it.) Those in the non poncho rows can be confident that they wont get anything thrown at them. Unless the trajectory angle of a jelly launcher is a little adrift and you get a large, fairly solid, moulded jelly flung at you. Not expecting this, hubby's reactions were a bit slow and he ended up getting hit on the top of his hand. (It was an orange jelly if you are wondering!)

The Blue Man Band
When you finish chuckling at his misfortune, you will be thinking "Its only jelly", but I held this pretty solid lump myself and the speed it was launched only added to the weight. So much so that he has a big bruise and has had to take painkillers. Good story to take home though.

So Im typing this at 10:20pm sitting on a poolside lounger. Alexander is having great fun in the pool. He has been in the water almost 2 hours. I think he is the boy from Atlantis. He's just been given his 10 minute warning to come out, and promptly disappeared out of sight. Dont worry, its a 4ft deep pool, so no deep end. At least we have got the benefit of the hotel as well as the parks.

Pool and Grill
Tomorrow we pack for the penulitmate time, and head over to the Gulf Coast and St. Petersburg for the last 4 nights. As much as Im looking forward to the beaches and sunsets there, Im also starting to feel ready to come home. Experience has taught us that 2 weeks isnt enough, 4 weeks is too long, 3 weeks is just right.
