It started with a Tweet to @Talkloads about doing a job we loved, and how we weren't doing that at the moment. It made me think about the times when I really enjoyed my job to the point that I looked forward to going to work, and the times I was so engrossed in something that I would forget the time.
There is one common denominator - creativity.
As much as I love my gadgets, iPhone, iPad, Twitter and such, they don't 'do it' for me as much as getting my hands clarted up in glue and paint and bits of beautiful papers or ribbons. It's been a while since I did any of that.
In the past my excuse was that the boys or work took up my time. I don't have that now. The boys do their own thing most of the time. Evenings and weekends are free for those once elusive 'me times'. I have no excuse other than I get stuck on the sofa with some Apple product and distracted by my new friends on Twitter.
I 'could' dust off all the equipment and supplies sitting in my old craft room - which would provide significant income if I wanted to sell it all on e-Bay.
I 'can' start an Art Journal, a scrapbook album or make some cards - or even just paint or draw.
You know what? I think I 'will'.......watch this space.
I love your projects and I know what you mean gadgetery and screens don't make up for feeling pen and paper or being covered in sequins and glue (my current predicament)I know that I always feel a bit more chilled out when i've made something myself!I esp love your book project that's fab! I hope this isn't too random but have you ever seen Guillermo del Toro's note books that he uses for films, they're beautiful. I Aspire to be able to create a book like that. It reminds me of your book. You should have a look. :)dpxwww.inanityandthegirl.blogspot.com
